Lowell Observatory

Visit the Lowell Observatory with the whole family and enjoy day-time solar viewing and night-time star gazing! The great Lowell Observatory was established in 1894, and in 1960 it established a dark-sky research site at Anderson Mesa. Today the 180-acre use permit area on the Coconino National Forest hosts several telescopes and the Navy Precision Optical Interferometer.
