About Arizona First Lego League

Through its Engineering Education Outreach, the Arizona State University offers a new program called Arizona FIRST LEGO League, for kids from ages 4 to 14. This robotics program helps kids learn critical thinking and problem-solving through different STEM activities (science, technology, engineering and math).
It’s divided into three categories, among which they advance progressively. The first division is called Discover, it’s introductory and geared towards students from ages 4 to 6, where the activities take place in the classroom and at home as well with LEGO DUPLO bricks. They later advance to the second division, called Explore, where they’ll learn design and coding using the using the LEGO Education SPIKE Essential Robots. This category is for kids from ages 6 to 10. As they progress into the final division called Challenge, they will get to build and program a robot with LEGO Education SPIKE PRIME Robot in a more competitive environment, as a team. This last division is for teams of students from ages 9 to 14.
The learning habits they gain throughout this program helps them grow their knowledge and confidence as they improve teamwork skills!
